Our Story

February 2003: She moves to Ohio and meets him for the first time.

2003- 2005: Her middle school crush.  Many church activities, Sunday school classes, math classes and school hallway passes.

2005: He was her second dance at a church youth dance although he was the first one she actually wanted to dance with.

2007: The Wizard of Oz.  He was the Tinman, she was a student director.  He looked so cute all dressed up, singing on stage.

2008: A Christmas Carol.  She was a ghost.  He was a drunk.  But they were also a struggling husband and wife.  During the first read of the script, they convinced the director they were the ones that should play the husband and wife since those roles were not yet assigned.  The whole idea was so ridiculous they rarely made it through the scene without laughing...

2009:  They graduated from high school and moved out to BYU-Idaho.  She was jealous when he hung out with other girls.  He tried to set her up with his friend.

July 2010- July 2012: He served a two year mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She continued her education at BYU-Idaho and went on a three month humanitarian trip to Peru.  They corresponded via snail mail for the time.

August 2012:  She flew home for a week and surprised him after not seeing him for over two years.  They went on a day-trip to Cedar Point (first date??) before she had to fly back to school.

September 2012- November 2012:  They saw each other everyday at school.  They went to the store, went to shows, hung out at each others apartments and even went on real dates!

December 2012: They had a nice little chat on top of his car, in the middle of nowhere, way past curfew.  At the end of the conversation, neither one really knew if they were dating or not...but they held hands.

Christmas night 2012:  He kissed her.  She kissed him.

January-April 2013: Long distance dating.  She went back to Idaho for school and he stayed in Ohio to work.  Somewhere in there they started talking about marriage and dates to be married.  She realized she loved him and told him so.

April 6th, 2013:  He flew to SLC for General Conference and proposed in a quaint little park.

April 2013- August 9, 2013:  Wedding plans, homework, Mexican food, wedding plans, homework, Mexican food, her college graduation, wedding plans etc....

10:00 am, August 10, 2013:  He said yes.  She said yes.  They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Columbus, Ohio Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Happily Ever After as a Smith Forever After began :)
